Performances for Adults

I am lucky. I have performed in some glamorous places – at the Barbican and South Bank London, and at a host of extraordinary festivals around the world, from Jaipur to Sydney. But I also love village hall touring, with promoters like Live & Local. I have been committed to it for fifteen years now, with no sign of stopping! For me, there is something magical about transforming a space with fairy lights, and having a local audience gather. It is a pleasure and a privilege to bring the show to the people. And it’s a link to the beginnings of British theatre, to the medieval players, the ‘sturdy beggars’ who performed from the back of a wagon. I like that!

So I have various shows in my repertoire of various lengths and intensities, to suit festivals, theatres and community venues. Some work especially well in atmospheric buildings (I will never forget telling Kissing the Wind in a ruined medieval bishop’s palace, with bats flying through the window behind me. Or performing Bluebeard by candlelight in a Victorian magistrates’ court). I also have a head full of stories that I can easily mix & match to create a bit of bespoke magic for private events or festival bills. Please ask! I’m always happy to chat.

These pieces are all intended for ADULT audiences. This doesn’t mean they are full of sex and swearing – they’re not! They simply explore adult themes, like the challenges of mid-life, infidelity, or love and loss. Deeply emotional stuff!
